What kind of writings am I looking for?

So here's my vision: A lot, if not most of contemporary Discordianism is fairly shallow - people give the Goddess lip service, but go on ignoring her message about blowing your own mind. They create temples to silliness (a worthier diety than, say, predjudice), and yet still go out and make themselves unhappy by limiting themselves.

I think there can be a lot more depth and meaning to Discordianism than many have really gotten into before. I'd like Discordian.com to help people take that next step and throw off their own misconceptions of such personal notions as "chaos" and "reality" and "self". I'm *not* trying to define Discordianism as my own path and my own path only. But I do want to sort of give people a poke in the butt to really think about what they believe for themselves. This is what Discordianism has aimed at, but with our intense modern cynicism, has rather missed the mark in many cases.

The writings I'm seeking for my site don't have to be things I agree with. They do have to be pieces that seriously make the reader think about what s/he believes. Even the silly writings should make you think. I want to poke people's soft spots and help them define themselves - even in ways I may personally dislike or disagree with.

I really want to create a thriving Discordian community of meaningful discourse. I don't want to make enemies. I also have a clear idea of the type of writings I'm seeking - clear, concise works that make you think and re-define your own views.

We are seeking submissions for any area of the site - philosophy, ritual, technique, and inspiration for any of our main sections. Read throught the site to get a general idea of what we publish here, and send us something that you think meets our quality standards. We're picky. Please don't take it personally if what you're offering isn't what we're looking for, we get some amazing works and some works that really aren't in line with our vision.

Postscript: I'm a little bit of a perfectionist. All the writings I get are interesting and worthwhile, but to be honest, I end up sending about 90% back to people with comments like "tell me more about this idea" or "this part is a little confusing.. do you mean a or b?". If you send me a writing and I send it back, please don't take it as an insult or a sign that I don't like or don't want your contribution. I value all the submissions that my site gets. I'm just not willing to post anything to my site until I feel it realizes it's entire potential as a mind-blowing info-bomb.

Also, Craig has taken over the majority of the editing duties for the site. Saint Mae will be doing the final approval, but Craig will be working with editing details.
