Reset: Party Number One

Q. What? When? Where? Why?
A. It's a party! Saturday, June 13th. Sometime after 9pm, usually until quite late, but please call if you expect to arrive after 1am. Autumn (Saint Mae) & Fox's place. Feel free to invite cool friends, see invite policy below.

Q. Why?
A.
There will be a bunch of visiting Discordians in town for KallistiCon. And also, since we moved here 8 months ago, we haven't had a party yet. Help reset the party clock with the first party at our new(ish) place.

Q. Whatever shall I wear??
A.
Wear something that makes you feel sexy. It's not a theme party or costumed caper (though if you want to wear a costume, go for it), so wear whatever you'll enjoy being seen in.

Q. What should I bring?
A.
Alcohol, non-alcoholic beverages, food. (Bringing something is appreciated, but not mandatory.)

Real food is wonderful. Standard chips and dip are ok, but we prefer to have more filling food at our parties. We like baked goods, deli meats, vegetables, nuts, chocolate.

Bring tasty alcohol, particularly sensual things like Midori and Godiva and suchlike. Basics like vodka, rum, etc. are always good too.

Our parties tend not to be beer-drinking parties, so unless you want to drink it yourself, please don't bring beer (hard cider is encouraged, though). Wine is not top on the list of what gets drunk either, though less so than beer.

For non-alcoholic drinks, please bring something tasty for the mixer section. We normally provide a few basics like coke, ginger ale, and orange juice, but special things like elderflower presse and redbull are really appreciated, as are tropical juices and other similarly tasty and nonstandard things. For that matter, we've run out of mixers before, so even standard sodas would be appreciated.

Q. Invite policy?
A.
Please consider this invite extended to yourself and your significant other(s). Feel free to bring a few friends if you think they'd enjoy our parties; we like smart geeky people with diverse interests, sensual people who engage others. Let us know if you're bringing more than a couple of people, but new friends are welcome if you think they'd fit in well.

Q. How do I get there?
A. Our address is 2530 Highland Avenue, Oakland, CA 94606. 650-274-7827
Here's a handy map:

Public transportation: You can take BART to Fruitvale, and then take the 62 AC Transit bus to 23rd Avenue and 24th Street, then walk up 24th to Highland (15 minutes on the bus, 5 minute walk). You can also call us from BART and someone may be able to pick you up, but let us know ahead of time so we can make sure someone is sober enough to drive.

NOTE: We have two cats. They're out of town staying with someone else at the moment so the house isn't too cattinated, but if you're allergic you may need to bring medication and hang out in the bedrooms (where the cats don't venture).

We look forward to seeing you soon!
